ARE YOU A BIBLE MAN?

ARE YOU A BIBLE MAN?

One of my members was being attacked for her belief in salvation by grace through faith in Christ (Eph 2:8-9). While he was vomiting out nonsensical personal opinions, she began quoting Scripture and nothing else. He told her, "You sound just like David Lamb." I was very proud of her! Why? First, she was not quoting David Lamb (his words mean nothing); she was quoting God's Word (His words mean everything)! Secondly, my enemies know that I am a Bible man. Joh 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
The most unsettling problem those that hate us over our unflinching loyalty to the gospel is we have the gospel and they don't. They have interpretations, ideas, and opinions that they have had to formulate by "reading between the lines" or "putting the pieces together" or by having some extra spiritual revelation. This is necessary for them because they can't prove what they believe with "thus saith the Word of God" (they have no book, chapter, or verse). This ideology is diametrically opposed to holy writ. 2Pe 1:20 tells us that THE Word is of "no private interpretation". So ... at the end of the day we win because the Word of God forever settled in heaven (Ps 119:89)! Patience, children, patience. God is with us.
Bible man: "Where is that in the Bible?" Opinion man: "I don't know but it's in there some where." Bible man: "Show me that in the Bible." Opinion man: "Okay. Right over here in the book .... of .... Acts ... chapter ... 10 ..." Bible man: "I'm sorry, but that's not what I asked you. That passage doesn't say that. Why can't you give me a verse that explicitly or even implicitly states your position?" Opinion man: "Huh?" Bible man: "Why can't you give me a verse that "almost" says what you're telling me?" Opinion man: "Well, it's a mystery. You have to learn how to put the pieces together." Children, be very careful of a man who can't give you a verse that plainly states what he says he believes. The Word of God is the only final authority on this planet. The Holy Ghost inspired it. If the spirit and the Word do not agree the spirit is wicked!
