THE HOME STRETCH ... ARE YOU READY FOR IT?

                                         THE HOME STRETCH!
                  ARE YOU READY FOR IT?

I write today because my heart carries a heavy burden. I will be brief and straight to the point.

We are in the home stretch now. I believe you and I are the generation that will see the coming of the Lord. For some, that is a glorious thing, but for the vast majority, that should be the most frightening thing that could be said because they are not ready for what is about to take place in America.

Eschatologically, I lean toward the pretribulation rapture doctrine. This is the idea that the church will be called out of this world into heaven with Christ before the last 7 year period of tribulation and wrath described by Daniel and John the Revelator happens. But this doctrine has seemingly caused men to rest, to be at ease in Zion. They seem to think that nothing tragic can happen in this country. That we will live life in the fast lane and be raptured out of our paradise into God's paradise. This merely reflects the image of their spiritual condition: loose, fast, and not concerned with the eternal. 2000 years ago our Christ told us to lift our heads, watching and praying for His coming, that we would not enter into temptation! Paul, John, and James wrote in a manner that lets us know that they were expecting the Lord to return at anytime, but the vast majority of people today are not watching and praying for His coming. They are so consumed and have such a love affair with this world, they are probably just a little disappointed with the idea of heaven and being with Christ for eternity.

Please, read the words of the Apostle Paul:

2Ti 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that LOVE HIS APPEARING. (stress added by author)

I want to warn you, if you are not loving, looking, and praying for His appearing, you will be caught off guard. The crown is laid up exclusively for those that "love His appearing".

A dear friend of mine, a very humble man of God, told me the following occurrence. He was staying at a church that had an evangelist's quarters and was sleeping there instead of his RV. About two or three that morning, the Spirit woke him, impressing upon his heart the need to go out to his RV and pray. As he knelt, the Spirit came upon him--he was not sure if it was a dream or a vision. When he came to himself, he heard the voice of the Lord saying, "The church is not ready for what is coming upon America".

For years, David Wilkerson (founder of Teen Challenge) prophesied of a horrid calamity that will come upon America. The following is a quote from one of those prophesies:

"AN EARTH-SHATTERING CALAMITY IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN. IT IS GOING TO BE SO FRIGHTENING, WE ARE ALL GOING TO TREMBLE - EVEN THE GODLIEST AMONG US. For ten years I have been warning about a thousand fires coming to New York City. It will engulf the whole megaplex, including areas of New Jersey and Connecticut. Major cities all across America will experience riots and blazing fires—such as we saw in Watts, Los Angeles, years ago. There will be riots and fires in cities worldwide. There will be looting—including Times Square, New York City. What we are experiencing now is not a recession, not even a depression. We are under God’s wrath."

Not too long ago, I read a report that Porter Stansberry, founder of Stansberry and Associates Investment Research firm (one of the world's largest), put together (www.endofamerica22.com). He warned investors to avoid Fannie and Freddie, Lehman Brothers, Bear Stearns, and General Motors years before each of them went bankrupt. Their research firm also, with pinpoint accuracy, predicted the financial crisis of 2008. Stansberry is now predicting a complete financial collapse of the United States monetary system. He is predicting that looting and rioting will take place in major cities. He believes there will be arrests on an unprecedented scale, and marshal law, enforced by the U.S. military. We will be taken back to the horse and buggy days!

In light of the economic crisis we already face, it is estimated that over 1,000 banks will close over the next two years (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHhewdxQ6CY). Marc Faber, author of the Gloom, Boom and Doom told CNBC on Tuesday, he foresaw the stock market going into meltdown soon and expects stocks to lose 20 percent of their value (http://www.cnbc.com/id/49802535). The financial collapse appears to be already happening.

These are just a couple of the many predictions and/or prophesies that have been given concerning America over the past few years.

Brothers and sisters, I am nothing. I am a nobody straight out of no where, but I must warn you. A very dark and trying time is coming upon this country. A day like we've never seen before and 99% of the church is not ready for it; they will be caught off guard.

It will require more than living an external standard of Christianity. It will require more than going to church and shouting and dancing and leaping in the aisles. We must repent of our sins. We must put off the world. We must come out from among it and be separate (2Co 6:17). We must burn the mid-night oil. We must fast like never before. We must pray that God rend the heavens and come down. We must see revival. Preachers, you must become the gospel you preach! You must be the man of God!

It is possible that we could be approaching one of the greatest moves of God this country has every seen! Where sin abounds the grace of God will abound even more! But it isn't going to come through the prayerless, lukewarm Church! The church must be on fire!
God bless you.

THE CHURCH NEEDS TO TAKE HER PLACE

THE CHURCH NEEDS TO TAKE HER PLACE

I laid down last night with perfect peace of mind. The overwhelming feeling that this country has reached a condition that is amazingly ripe for REVIVAL has overtaken me more so than ever before. The darker the night the brighter the light will shine. AMERICA is the greatest country in the world, but she is wicked. Sin dances in the streets and the "saints" hide in the corner of the church.

Homosexuals put on massive parades and celebrate their "pride" in every major city in the country and the "saints" hide in the corner of the church ashamed to speak the name of Christ. Men who have no prayer life want to discuss how this election has destroyed our country. NO! Prayer-less, burden-less, worldly minded "Christians" are destroying this country! Men who would rather talk about the darkness and never build fires are destroying this country! Silence is destroying this country! A church that is more interested in being entertained than changing the world is destroying this country! I want REVIVAL! WE CAN HAVE REVIVAL, BUT IT WON'T COME WITHOUT US PAYING THE PRICE!

In 2Ch 7:14, God said, "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." PRAYER, RIGHT LIVING AND EVANGELISM WILL MOVE THE HAND OF GOD! THE HAND OF GOD CAN MOVE THIS COUNTRY! -- Pastor Lamb

A BURNT OUT MINISTER IS IRRELEVANT

A BURNT OUT MINISTER IS IRRELEVANT

I've been reading staggering statistics about clergy burnout. Statistics revealing how depression, obesity, hypertension, and diabetes are incredibly high among clerics. Did you know the life expectancy of a minister is much lower than the average person? 1,500 clerics leave the ministry every month. Why? I know what some will say, "They're hirelings. They don't pray. They don't love God. Etc." I'm sure that's true way too often, but that's not always the case. And those that readily say such things usually aren't pastors or, if they are, have a congregation of 8 people.

We are living in a different world than the men of old. Did you ever consider the fact that John Wesley, Charles Spurgeon, Charles Finney, G. Whitefield, J. Edwards, Praying Hyde, General Booth, David Brainerd, Livingstone, Seymour, McCheynne, A. B. Simpson, etc didn't have access to phones, planes, cars, internet, email, text messaging, etc? If the congregation got a hold of them it was on Sunday or via horse and buggy. And if your preacher was a circuit rider ... you DIDN'T get a hold of him.
They didn't have to compete with cell phones, ipads, ipods, television, radio, internet, Hollywood, etc. People weren't gospel hardened and entertained to death. People didn't expect the preacher to cater to their every whim because they couldn't cater to their every whim. I compare that with a hundred phone calls and text messages a week (literally), hundreds of emails and Facebook messages, and the continuous expectations of the clergy being at all places at all times thanks to speedy vehicles. Today's pastor is on call 24/7! And because of today's technology, the pressure to perform is crazy. John Wesley attributed his long life to taking naps as often as he needed. (If today's cleric takes a nap someone rings the door bell and accuses them of being lazy and sleeping all day.)

But, concerning the men of old, they had revival and we, for the most part, do not. They spent most of their time praying, reading, and preaching. Their greatest stress came from wrestling with God, not men.
They understood that the church belonged to God, not them. They understood that counseling can never take the place of the unadulterated preached Word. They understood that the hard hearted and stubborn laity sitting in the pews were lost and in need of conversion and not to be reckoned as church bosses.
Let's spend more time in prayer and the Word, talking to God about men; and less time answering text messages and counseling people to do what we've told them a hundred times from the pulpit.
If you're tired, sleep. If you're on the verge of burning out, shut your phone off, take a few days off, spend time with God and your family. Learn how to say "NO".

Don't let your wife suffer because you're ministering to another man's wife and don't have time for her. Don't lose your kids trying to save other peoples kids. If you burn out you will wreck yourself and then be irrelevant anyway.

Don't allow anyone to push you beyond your capacity. And ... remember it all belongs to God. He's the husbandman. Let the divine stay up all night. Let the omnipresent be every where at all times. Let Him be responsible for HIS church. You? Just do what you can.

 I'M HALF WAY THERE!

This past October, I turned forty-four years old. Usually, I just move right through my birthdays without much thought, but not any more. I have become acutely aware of time and how fickle it is. I know I'm not old, but I now realize I am getting older. I've lived a lot of life, witnessed and experienced a lot of pain. I have cried, laughed, loved, gained and lost a great deal for one man. I have noticed the pain in my back and wrinkles on my face haven't gone away. I am still startled by the thought that twenty-year old men and women look at me like a father. I gasp at the fact that forty-four is over half of eighty and my grandmother died in her seventy's (that was thirty-two years ago)! I realized that I don't want my children to grow up anymore; that I want them to stay just like they are. I find myself wishing time would stop.

But I also realize there's a good chance I may have another forty-four years to love and live and heal and cry and forgive and help and hope and give and strengthen and build and pray and preach and listen and care. I realize there are seven people (my wife and six children) that I'm not expendable to; seven people that will not walk away from me if I stagger. I realize that my babies are going to grow up and be my best friends, so I better cultivate that friendship now. I realize I actually have some friends that are good and faithful far often than they are bad and unfaithful. I realize that I have some people that I can call at midnight and they will answer. I realize when they act stupid and forget me, they are important enough to remind them to not forget me anymore. I realize I have been bad and unfaithful at times and they are still my friends. I realize that I have forgotten them sometimes. I realize I had better pick the phone up at midnight when they call.

I realize a smile goes a long way. I realize that I haven't been laughing enough and laughing is fun. I found that I am at my wisest when I'm just listening and shaking my head up and down and saying "uh huh".

I realize people are fallible, very important, but fallible. I realize people are going to lie to me, ignore my wife and I, talk about us, use us, think they're better than us, forget us, and a million other things that fallible people do. And to my surprise, I realize I don't mind it as much as I used to; that I've come to expect it, and I can always forgive them and act like it didn't happen when they come back around and bless us. I now realize I want them to come back around ... if they want to. And if they don't want to come back around, I can hope they are happy. I realize they are hurting, too, and that I can choose to heal, even if they do not.

I realize that the pure in heart see God; that all things are working for me and not against me. I realize that God has used every person in my life (family, friend and foe) to make me a better Christian, husband, father, friend, and preacher. I realize pride and selfishness are two of the most deadly things in the world because they build walls and shut life out.

I realize that although He wants my best, God knows I'm human and doesn't expect me to be anything but human; that He doesn't expect greatness out of me. He wants me to die, so He can be great through me. I realize that through Christ I can be truly free, liberated from this world.

I am also overcome by the thought that my days are few and that I must make the most of them. So since I'm blessed enough to have a handful of people that actually care enough about me to read this little note, I promise you, I am going to love, live, and bless more the second half of my life than I did the first.

Sincerely,
David Lamb

GOD IS TAKING US TO THE NEXT LEVEL! WANNA GO?

I love the Lord! His favor has been upon Revival Tabernacle for 2 years straight. We've faced great opposition, but God has seen us through it all. While our enemies shot arrows, the hand of God was our shield. This month marks 13 straight months that we have carried out the great commission in Richmond, KY. We have knocked doors at least 45 out of the last 53 Saturdays, having never been rained out a single time. We had over 40 on the evangelism team today! God has supplied the means to feed hundreds of people thousands of pieces of food. Hundreds of lost men and women have prayed on our altars, dozens have gotten soundly converted. We've watched those new converts draw closer to God, seeking Him for His love and holiness! We've went from about 8 to 140-150 regular attendees in less than two years. We have witnessed numerous incredible miracles that doctors can't explain any other way than, "Your God is powerful." I've watched men and women that lived rather mediocre lives becomes awesome tools in the hands of their divine creator. I'm humbled. God is using us to inspire people and churches from all over this world to rise in these last days, becoming the hands and feet of Christ. Hell is angry. I don't blame Him because we're just getting started. God is getting ready taking us to the next level and I ask each of you to pray for us. Without Him we're nothing! With Him, through Him, we can do all things!

TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!

JUST DO IT! From the first day God sent me back to Richmond, Ky to start Revival Tabernacle the gossipers, talebearers, liars and haters began working overtime! At times, it really bothered us, but we started building the Kingdom of God anyways (knocking hundreds of doors every week, feeding hundreds of down and out folk, reaching out to the children and loving the addicts, alcoholics, homeless and abused). One day (a couple months ago), I realized that I wasn't hearing as much gossip and slander as before. It really felt good to think these vicious people were starting to leave us alone, but then God opened my eyes to the truth of the matter. The talebearers and hypocrites were still talking, but we are so busy doing Kingdom stuff we no longer hear it and no longer care. What the enemy says and does doesn't really matter anymore because we're too busy winning souls and seeing people get healed to think about it! God has set us a bountiful table in the very presence of our enemies!

IF YOU WILL GET BUSY DOING SOMETHING FOR GOD, MOST OF YOUR PROBLEMS AND ENEMIES WILL BECOME MINISCULE! YOU'LL BE TOO BUSY BEING BLESSED TO BE STRESSED! NOW, GET OUT THERE AND DO SOMETHING FOR GOD!

AFFAIR PROOFING YOUR MARRIAGE!

(AUDIO LESSON - PASTOR DAVID LAMB & REV TODD SLOGGETT)

The divorce rate in America (the church included) is over 50%. Infidelity (cheating on your spouse) is typically the last step before a couple ends up in a divorce court. Whether you will agree or not, without God's help, all of us have the capacity to "step out" on our spouses.

Rev. Todd Sloggett and myself believe this lesson, if applied in its entirety, will assist you in keeping your marriage from getting to that tragic place. It also harnesses the capacity to turn a rocky marriage around and put it back on the proper course!

This lesson is a must listen to every married couple in the world! Listen, take notes and be a doer of God's holy Word!

The lesson you are about to listen to was compiled by Todd Slogget and myself, but it is my voice that you will hear throughout the lesson.  - David Lamb, Sr. Pastor Revival Tabernacle

A FEW VERSES FOR THE PREACHER. (Please, note that this is a command)

2Ti 2:24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken ca
ptive by him at his will.

Would you say that your ministry and the manner in which you preach is marked with GENTLENESS? PATIENCE? MEEKNESS? If not, you're probably not seeing a lot of souls recovered from the snare of the devil! It isn't enough to just go into the highways and hedges. The Great Commission wasn't just a cool suggestion designed to free us from the spiritual guilt of sitting idle. The purpose for going into the highways and hedges is to fill God's house with souls (Lu 14:23). The purpose of the Great Commission is to "teach", or to "make disciples" of all nations (Mt 28:19-20). I don't think our problem is so much WHAT we're preaching as it is HOW we're preaching. Pr 11:30 tells us: "...he that winneth (or taketh) souls is wise." Let us pray for wisdom! Let us pray for wisdom!

THERE ARE "TWO" PILLARS TO PURE RELIGION (AUDIO SERMON)

Jas 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

What does pure religion consist of? Outreach? Purity? BOTH!
